Final Mock June 23, 2009
1) LA Clippers- Blake Griffin F/C Oklahoma
The Clippers are loaded in the front court but have already said that they will take Blake. I think he will be a Christian Laettner type player in the league. Averaging around 14 pts and 8 rbs over his career. It will be interesting to see how the Clippers will get Camby, Randolph, Griffin and Kaman minutes.
2) Memphis Grizzlies- Hasheem Thabeet C UConn
I could see the 2nd and 3rd pick being switched. I don't think Oklahoma City necessarily wants Thabeet but I don't think they will pass him up if he is still here. I think Thabeet will be a Sam Dalembert type player. Don't see him with a huge upside. Swift and Rose are free agents and they could use some front court depth to help Collison and Kristic.
3) Oklahoma City-James Harden SG Arizona State
Some people are picking the Grizz to take Thabeet. I think they are fairly loaded at C with Gasol, Gay and Arthur. Harden has a huge upside and could allow Mayo to move over to point. I don't think Conley will prove to be much in the league and Harden could start right away.
4) Sacramento- Ricky Rubio PG Spain
I think Rubio probably has the highest upside in the draft. I think he could be a Steve Nash type player. Bobby Jackson and McCants are both free agents this off season and if Rubio is available i think that the Kings snatch him. Rubio will give Kevin Martin and exciting backcourt partner.
5) Washington- Jordan Hill PF Arizona
If this pick gets traded it wouldn't suprise me. The Wizards are pretty much stacked at every starting position its just none of them can stay healthy. Rumours are swirling that Jamison and possibly Caron Butler are on the move. I think the Wizards take Hill because he has a huge upside. Hill is very capable of scoring from the block or the high post. He has a lot of potential and I'm not sure the Wizards will let him slip.
6) Minnesota- Tyreke Evans G Memphis
Their are rumours flying that Minnesota might trade Kevin Love to get the #2 and draft Rubio. If they stay at this spot I don't think they let Evans slip. Evans is a lengthy guard with ability to get to the line. Like most of the draft class the word potential is thrown around a lot. Evans and Foye could make a good backcourt combo. However, I think Twolves will move up and get Rubio.
7) Golden State- Steph Curry G Davidson
Many prospects aren't working out for Golden State because the way the franchise is going. I think they will end up taking another SG/PG combo who will be a defensive liability with Ellis in the backcourt with him. Curry is a Ellis clone and the way the Warriors are talking they won't let him slip past this spot if he is still here.
8) New York Knicks- Jrue Holliday G UCLA
If Curry or Jordan Hill are here the Knicks will take them. Holliday has been very impressive in workouts and could help cure the Knicks PG woes. It's unlikely Nate Robinson will get resigned and the Knicks will need a guard to help push Duhon for the starting job or be his back up. Holliday has a good wingspan and is a defensive stopper the Knicks desperately need.

No Wonder the Cavs are Down. +/- Analysis
Who do you think has the highest +/- rating on the Cavs for their series against Orlando? Lebron, no try again. Moe Williams? No. How about Z, How about ANDERSON VAREJO. Below I will include the table of the numbers and minutes played. Lebron, Z, and Varejo both have a plus minus around 5.5. Lebron, the best player in the league only has a plus/minus of 5.5? Now lets look at their bench. Ben Wallace -10.6. Joe Smith Even. So expalin to me why Joe Smith is playing substantial less in the last few games then Wallace. Is Mike Brown impressed with his Game 4 and 5 performances averging a minus 16? The Cleveland bench is about even in this rating system except for Wallace's -10.6 and Wally World's -8.6.
Originially I was picking the Cavs to make the complete comeback until I looked into these stats. For camparrison lets look at the Magic. The player with the highest plus/minus in the series? Skip to my Lou with a plus 7.6. Dwight Howard is -.5 while Courtney Lee is -1. However, when you look at the Magic bench they are even as a unit. This just goes to show a nother facit of how Cleveland's bench is killing them.
Ill add to this later probably and also will add a Kobe/Lebron better player debate and even add in D Wade.

Fran Tarkenton and Brett Farve both in the wrong
If you haven't heard the Fran Tarkenton rant on 790 The Zone on Mayhem in the AM it is a must listen. I have been trying to stay away from the Brett Farve talk but this interview with Tarkenton has gotten my attention. The things Fran says about Farve are probably fair and can be argued either way. However, his destroying of Marcellus Wiley is absurd and out of line. Where has Fran Tarkenton even been for the last twenty years???? What makes him come out of the woodwork and hate on Wiley and Farve. Where was Fran last year when Farve was talking about joining the Vikes? Wiley calls him a grumpy old man and than Fran just goes on to destroy him. Wiley isn't a Hall of Famer but he didn't have a minimal playing career. He also goes on a rant about how many businesses he owns. Well Wiley is a business man himself. Wiley respected him by calling him a Hall of Famer and a great player. Wiley attacked the COMMENTS he made not him as a player. Fran took it to a low level by attacking Wiley as a player, not responding to his comments.
It sounds like Fran thought he was such a legend and that he wouldn't be critized and he must think he is a bigger legend than Farve. Tarkenton finished his career with a 80.4 QB rating, 342 TD's and 266 INT's in 18 years. Farve currently has a rating of 85.4, 464 TDS and 310 INT's. Fran played for 18 years, he has to know the difficulties Farve is going through not knowing whether or not to retire. Also hoping that Farve ruins his reputation in Green Bay and the rest of the league just because he wants to extend his career? Does he REALLY think that Rosenfals and Jackson will do better than Farve. He obviously doesn't want his reputation as the greatest quarterback to ever play for the Vikings to be lost. He knows that if Farve becomes a Viking he will overshadow Tarkenton.
I agree that Farve needs to make up his mind but I don't think he is the one holding up the process right now. All I know is Fran is going to continue getting ripped and trying to defend himself today only made it worse. I still can't believe I'm sticking up for Farve.
